First Foods for baby

Start with baby rice mixed with breast or formula milk. Then gradually introduce other foods such as puréed fruit and vegetables and other baby cereals.

Bananas and Papaya can just be mashed or blended and don't need any cooking. Choose ripe bananas. Baby rice can also be added to any fruit. Try this with anything your baby isn't too keen on. A blender is pretty much essential for preparing baby food.

Apple or Pear

Peel, core and chop 2 sweet eating apples or pears, add 2 tablespoons of water & simmer until tender. Purée.

Carrot

Peel and chop 2 medium carrots. Simmer until tender, purée adding some of the cooking water to get the right consistency.

Sweet Potato and Swede

Peel and chop a large sweet potatoe and a small swede. Simmer until tender, purée adding some of the cooking water to get the right consistency.

Amazon do some good recipe books for babies.
