Parents do not have to pay for school meals if the recieve any of the following:-

Families who are on benefits or on low income could be entitled to clothing grants or vouchers from their local authorities to assist with the cost of school clothing. To find out more from your local authority website about applying for help with school clothing costs, select the link and enter your postcode and details of where you live. If your child continues to learn and develop your skills after the age of 16 he or she could receive up to £30 a week to help you out with things like books, travel and equipment. Whether your child gets this or not will be based upon your household income. The current household income threshold is £30,810 per year, so if your household income is above that amount your child will not eligible for EMA.
